Syrillia
Geography
Syrillia spreads across a maze of canyons and sharp ridges. Tall buttes rise from the dry ground like natural towers, with narrow paths winding between their bases. Travel is slow and easily controlled, which keeps the kingdom safe from sudden attack. Rich mineral seams run through the cliffs, and small farms sit in the sheltered valley floors where the soil holds enough water for hardy crops. High above these fields stands Gryphon’s Roost, the capital, built into the upper face of one of the largest buttes.

Culture
Life in Syrillia rests on endurance and pride. Families learn to read the land from childhood, and their sense of independence runs deep. The griffon riders are the kingdom’s greatest emblem. They serve as scouts, messengers, and elite fighters, and their training grounds sit along the ledges of Gryphon’s Roost. The annual aerial games bring crowds from across the Nine Kingdoms to watch riders and griffons test speed and control over open air.
Outlanders
Newcomers from the Shifts face careful scrutiny. Syrillians look for courage, skill, and the discipline needed to live in harsh terrain. Some Outlanders find places as scouts or in the mines. Those who cause trouble face hard choices. They may be sent on dangerous patrols or escorted into the wilds beyond the canyons. Only those who strengthen the kingdom’s resilience are permitted to stay.
