Wester
Geography
Wester stretches across wide prairies broken by low hills, scattered mesas, and long rivers that feed farms and ranches. Storm fronts sweep the plains with little warning, and the open land leaves little shelter, shaping a people used to hard weather and long distances. The capital, Redstone, sits at a major crossroads and serves as the region’s main trading post. In the far east stands Khorvael, a walled city of dwarven and gnomish exiles built outside the sealed Deepingate. Though within Wester’s borders, Khorvael governs itself and follows its own long traditions.

Culture
Westren life turns on work, cooperation, and wide land. Families run cattle, grow hardy crops, and gather for barn dances or shared meals after long days. Redstone hosts the Frontier Festival each year, drawing crowds from across the plains for rodeos, games, and contests of skill. Khorvael adds its own mark to the region with precise metalwork, stonecraft, and a guarded pride in its deep roots. Across Wester, people respect steady hands, plain talk, and those who carry their share of the load.
Outlanders
Newcomers from the Shifts meet wary eyes but not closed doors. Most start with ranch work, field labor, or maintenance along the trade roads so the community can judge their grit. Those who adapt and help are folded into local life. Those who refuse or stir trouble are taken to the borders. In rare cases, serious offenders are sent toward the Shifting zones. Both Wester and Khorvael prize resilience and self-reliance, and only newcomers who add to that strength are allowed to remain.
